There isnt any codeine in a hydrocodone pill. There is 10mg of hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid pain reliever. It is similar to codeine but not the same. Some people who are unable to take codeine can take hydrocodone. Hydrocodone and codeine are both chemically related to morphine and are derived, in part, from the poppy plant although hydrocodone is partially synthetic (hence semi-synthetic). The chemical name is 4,5α-Epoxy-3-methoxy-17-methylmorphinan-6-one tartrate (1:1) hydrate (2:5). Hope this helps!
