How many people on here taking Lamictal have gained weight on it?

Weight gain is not a reported side-effect of Lamictal.

I took Lamictal 200 a few years ago in addition to Cymbalta as a mood stablizer. I went off it, as per doctor, for a while and now I am on 100. I think it keeps me up at night, so I try taking it earlier. When I previously took it, I lost weight. Now, I seem to be gaining weight. I excercise and eat right, so I am thinking it is the Lamictal. I will discuss this with my doctor when I see him. For me, the Lamictal increased my appetite.

I have been on Lamictal 200 mg. for about 6 yrs. I did not notice the weight gain that I had previously had while on other mood stabilizing drugs. (Depakote, Serequal, etc.). But, when I was temperarely taken off of it for approx. 6 wks. I did lose about 8 lbs. (water weight). When placed back on it, I have noticed the return of 5 lbs. over last 4 mos. with no other changes to Meds, diet or activity level. No complaints though, approx. 30 to 37 lb. gain/loss when on/off other (above mentioned) mood stabilizers! Hope this helps New4me.
