Hi Martin and welcome to the site! I'm sorry it took me so long to give you a response as I was having some technical difficulties. I too suffer from insomnia. My doctor put me on Ambien a couple of months ago. I took the 5mg pill the first month and was still not sleeping so he upped the dose to 10mg. I am still not getting more than 4 or 5 hours of sleep even with this medication but that is more than I was getting!
I don't know what your situation is or what else you may have going on in your life. If you don't mind me asking you a few questions. Do you take other meds? Have you always had trouble sleeping? How long have you been taking the Ambien and at what dose?
I'm not a medical professional but there are others here that are. I can however, share my experiences with you and support you even if you just need someone to talk to. Again, welcome.
