I was just wondering the amount in 24 hr period for health reasons if a person is always in chronic pain

first of all judge not less ye be judged. There's no sense in being assholes to people you have no idea of their situation. Oh an just so you know I am a recovering addict & alcoholic with 11yrs clean. So if your in recovery you should know better, we help all addicts & alcoholics wheather we are in the program or still suffering, as for the answer to your question it simply depends on your tolerance level but you should never take more than 4000mg in a 24 hour period. try not to let judgemental asses bother you. If you do have a problem aa & na meetings are everywhere and you'er always welcome with us cause most of us will treat you like family an you wont be judged! It only helps if you want it an only you know when you'er ready.

I have just been upped to 5 a day from my Dr. (A Pain Management Dr.), but I have been on my meds for almost 7 years now. I take Lortab 10's with a muscle relaxer and i do still have pain, but I have to learn to deal with it i guess..

The max is 8 but I agree with jlcain here.If you are taking anymore than 6 10's a day you have yourself more than just a problem.

I so totally agree with you Dave. How rude can you get givemeore? Dave's answer ended with "GOOD LUCK" and you return your comment with such rude fowl language. Anyone should always check with their pharmacy or doctor. I'm not quite sure why anyone would ask this question in the first place unless you are looking to get high or commit suicide. Personally I think you have already taken over the maximum dosage.

I've been here for a long time and believe me if he was in real pain then he would have made it very obvious. Just a guy trying to get info on how much weak hydrocodone he can get high off of until he makes himself sick or puts himself in danger.
Obviously you already have come here with a attitude by trying to tell me that a professional doctor doesn't know what he's talking about and some street addict knows more. This is why I rarely answer these questions because they lead to this. Anyway, if the guy really wanted legit info or help then I or someone else here would have gladly given it. Remember, a lot of us are recovering addicts ourselves and had someone spoken up to me earlier then who knows, maybe I wouldn't even be here trying to help addicts from making the same dumb mistakes I did.Simple as that..Have a good weekend... I am a recovering addict. And I have developed sever Arthitis,I have bone spurs in my back that a lot of times are pressing on nerves. I have just relocated and I have a new doctor who I don't believe have my best interest at heart. I recieve my medical care at a VA and because I am recovering addict she what's to cut my medication. I have been subjected to random drug screens which is cool and I have not had not one dirty one. I have been clean by the grace of God for 5 years.I take my medication only as directed on the bottle, so I am confused about why is this crazy woman who calls herself a doctor whats to cut my script. I am always in pain and I have had a pain clinic doctor suggest something different with a longer shelf life but because of my PAST I am being treated like I am still getting high.Please help I do not know what my rights are or what I can do.
