I have been on Labetalol for two days now and my doctor said that it should of worked immediately, but it hasn't. He perscribed me this medication for my SVT not for high blood pressure and because I am pregnant. Is anyone else taking this medicine for SVT? How long should it take to start working? And has anyone that's pregnant taken this medication as well?

I just started Labetalol today. I am 14 weeks pregnant diagnosed with hypertension stage 1. So far this medication has not worked yet. I almost have rapid pulse, and for that it has worked. Labetalol is often prescribed to pregnant women... It's a class C drug although testing on pregnant women has not been preformed. It is considered safe due to the risk of preeclampsia and other issues that high blood pressure may cause. The risks of high blood pressure definitley outweigh the risk of this medication during pregnancy.
