The exact time will vary depending on metabolism, activity level, water intake, all kinds of things. But for xanax the half life is 6-12 hours. For valium it can be 36 - 70 hours or more. For a drug test it depends on the frequency and amount of use. But you should check clean after four days for either drug. Hope that helps.
