Methadone acts as a blocker for 24-36 hr.s. However, it only blocks the effect of the high and the craving. You would have to use a LOT more of your d.o.c. to get high but then risk an o/d. Also mixing trancs(xanax, valium, etc.) is playing russian roulette. Many, many people o/d and die from that mixture--I know firsthand, I was clinically dead but they hit me with some narcan and after an hour I was out of the woods--again. Hope this helps and be well, Julie
