i have been on zoloft for 4 and a half months now and I am 15 years old. I want to start easing off of it.
How long does it take to slowly ease off 75 mg of zoloft?

Hi chiodos,
I would also advise you that you speak with your doctor to let him/her know that you want to come off zoloft. Are you starting to feel better and you feel you dont need it anymore? Either way,you should get advice from your doc,as Pledge said it will decrese your chances of withdrawl and help you off the med slowly!
Best of luck to you and take care
Thank you for your feedback! Yes, I will be talking to my doctor soon about it. I am hoping within 6 or 7 months to start minimizing my dose slowly then eventually over time get off it completly. I don't like talking medicines, but i think after i am off the zoloft i would like to take the much more natural medicine, saint john's ward to inhance my mood/ hapiness level. I strongly believe that herbs in tea can also have a posative impact on your mood as well.
That's great, hope it works out for you and i wish you all the best.
Take care

Hello chiodos44! Please see your doctor and tell him that you want off of Zoloft. He knows the protocal for titrating your meds down correctly. He is aware of any potential symptoms that may occur during the process. He will be able to treat you should anything happens. There have been cases in which people have tried getting off of antidepressants without medical supervision and as a result had a medical crisis. So please work with your doctor so that you can get off of Zoloft safely. I hope things work out well for you! Sweetie Pie
Thank you very much! Yes i will be talking to my doctor soon, I just keep praying that she will let me ease off of it, because i am in the process of being homeschooled, and my main focus for taking the medicine was because of school. I feel very confident in being free of zolft completly though. I am looking into, once i am off of the zoloft, taking saint john's ward. It is a natural supplement.

I am going to be talking to my doctor about it soon, It is just a thought, that possibly in 6 months or so i will start minimizing the dose. the reason is because I don't like being on medicine and I like more natural alternatives. I am hoping in the future to replace it with saint john's ward.
I understand. The very best of luck to you, pledge
