Do you mean 1mg or (as you wrote it) 0.1mg of Xanax 1 to 2 times a day? A largest factors concerning the answer to your question depends on the length of time you have been taking Xanax, as well as the dose. If you have been on 1mg once or twice daily for more than 3-4 weeks, I'd say it would take probably around 2 weeks to get it out of your system. Other factors involved include your body mass, and how your body metabolizes the drug. If you have been taking it for a long time (more than 2-3 months), it could likely still be detected for an even longer time period. Additionally, if you have been on 1-2mg per day for a long time, suddenly stopping your medication for the week or more needed in order to pass a drug test could easily result in life-threatening side effects (seizures have been caused even in people who have taken 1-2mg a day for only 3-4 weeks, but those are probably the more rare cases).

Sorry, 0.25mg tablets (not 0.5mg) are the smallest I know of. Thus, if you take half of a 0.25mg tablet 1 to 2 times a day, the length of your treatment period is what will largely determine how soon and safely you will be able to discontinue the drug.
Sorry for my initial mistake... writing in a hurry as always!
