How long does it take for your body to no longer respond to microgestin?

Details:

I have been off microgestin for a month. My period is late by 5 days. Is that because my body is readjusting or is it possible I am pregnant?

If you took your pills as directed i.e. on time everyday then it's highly likely that your body/hormones is still adjusting and that's why you haven't had a period. I know it's been a while now and I hope you have got your period now.
