I have been prescribed Aldactone as a diuretic because of a hormone imbalance. Does it have to build up in your bloodstream before it starts to work, or are the results immediate?

Aldactone is a diuretic and should work within hours. I take diazide and it depends on how much flluid I am retaining pn how many time I have to urinate. if it is not working for you I would say contact your doctor. if you are taking it for cardiac reasons and you are not getting rid of the extra fluids that could be something serious. I hope this helps. Good Luck take care and God Bless.
