I've been taking one mg of haloperidol and my dr. just increased it 2mg because I'm hearing voices. How long does the drug take in getting rid of voices and how many mg should I be taking.

hi, i feel for you and can only imagine how hard and scary it must be right now, it sounds like your doing everything you can, seeing the doctor, taking the suggested dose your GP recommended, the thing is every one is different and getting the balance is not the same fore every one at any certain time of life. Your also reaching out to others and this is good but your doctor knows you better than any of us can and this is his or her area, but we can have you in our thoughts and hope you get well as soon as possible, maybe this dose will start to work soon , if not i guess back to rthe doctor. I admire your courage :)

Thank you kindly for your words of encouragement. My psychiatrist and increased the haloperidol to 5 m g I went to work last week and was ok so I'm going to work tonight. I am also on zyprexa but I don't know which drug will get rid of the voices.

hi i just got back today, doing the rest of my detox at home, Sounds like its a tricky balance, but i supose if your doc helped with the voices he must know his stuff and will get the balance right here too. I think your very brave, i also can relate with the loss of memory with one of my meds topamax, over time I have risen above this to a large degree, so maybe this will be the case fo5r u untill your body and mind get used to the change in chemical balance. You have good awarness of your self, im sure your doctor likes seeing you, doctors like helping or working out some of the puzzles, Ill keep in touch, let me know how your going :)
