It may take a couple of days for you to feel any benefit (in terms of pain reduction, etc.) but you must finish the course before you can see the full benefit. If you still feel that there is pain around that area even after your course of antibiotics has finished, I would suggest you see your dentist again ... as sometimes you may need 2 courses of antibiotics to clear the infection. Please be vigilant.
