From what I was told by my Pdoc the Addreall XR is supposed to stay in your system 6-7 hours; XR just takes a while to get into the system. I was switched from XR because I had bad side effects. See if your Pdoc will change you to IR. I was taking Generic Adderall Instant Release 20 mg once in the morning and once at noon for about 2 months. It lasted about 6-7 hours each time. I just started 30 mg a week a go, prescribed at the same time of day and it lasts a little longer. Sometimes I have to take the second dose before noon, or I'll be awake all night. I'm also battling Coca Colas which aren't helping me in the sleep department because of the caffiene. So far, they've helped me focus and stay on task. I still need a little help for procrastination, but I'm slowly working that out through counseling and reading articles about the piles of junk I've let accumulate and procrastination. Hope this helps.
