katecantw...I've been on heroin for 5 years off and on. This time I've been using 7 months straight and was up to 1.5 grams per day. I went to a hospital to detox and left within 24 hours bc the suboxine wasn't working but it was making me throw up like my body was rejecting it... So within the last 3 days I have wheind myself down a lot but I bought some generic subutex on the street hoping to find something to kick my habit... But I need to know when like how many hours to wait? Do I just wait until I'm in withdrawal??Also how many milligrams are suggested?

Dear Kate, welcome to the site. Please google the COWS sheet, clinical opiate withdrawal scale, and keep that handy. After 24 hours of being free of all opiates including H, and a score of at least 26 on the COWS sheet quiz, then you should be safe to take the subutex. I will warn you that recovery is difficult and you should be seeing a subs dr and an addiction therapists. Thosenwho don't tke a dangerous shortcut and often relapse. I am not judging or fussing, but you will likely need guidance and medical help. Most of the subs horror stories and failures we read here are from those who aren't taking it correctly or coming off too soon. It is not a magic pill that heals a person quickly, like some hope.
