How long he needs to take it would depend on the sort of cycle he is having ... it can be long term most times. Sunitinib is usually taken once every day for 4 weeks, followed by 2 weeks off the drug. Your doctor will determine how many complete treatment cycles you need based on your condition. Please discuss with his oncologist.

yes, we've done that but his only option is to go off sutent - doesn't seem to know any other way to resolve.
