My grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer's three years ago and has been taking Aricept regularly for quite awhile now but he seems like hes getting worse as time goes on, was wondering if Aricept eventually stops working if on it for any length of time

punkbaby2118bear; I am sorry to hear about your grandfather. My dad just passed away in September from Alzheimers. Aricept is a good medication but does lose its effectiveness after a while. You did not mention whether or not he is on Namenda ot the Exelon Patch. If he is not on these medications then I personally recommend that he be tried on them. Of course nothing is going to bring his mind back fully, but this will help fight of the disease and give him some more quality time with his family. Good Luck to you.

She has had four episodes of passing out the past two months. Has two small aneurisms that need watching over time. 2 mm and 6 mm in size>

all the time, furniture moving, etc could this be related to aricept. She was in the ER last night CAT scan showed nothing.

My dad is on generic aricept we have a care giver it seems every times she works some of the aricept
... is missing is it used for anything but alzheimers what could she be doing with them?

My wife has dementia and takes both aricept and nimenda. She is now taking the 23mg of aricept. She had a slight teeheehee laughter when taking 5mg ...
