How Does Elavil Work?
Elavil belongs to a class of medications called tricyclic antidepressants. It is not entirely clear how the drug works. It does affect several chemicals in the brain, including serotonin and norepinephrine. Elavil may allow these chemicals to stay in the brain longer, which can help with depression symptoms.

I take elavil for my headaches, but now it seems that i get muscle cramps in my legs everynight that i take it along with my vitamins.

I've been presc. elavil for vascular headaches(subarachnoid hemorrhage10 yrs ago) will it work/safe?
Typical migraine Meds. Don't work. Altram works if symptoms before onset.

... headaches, bad body aches, muscle fatigue and dizziness. Is this a normal reaction or should I call my doctor?
