So i have been on suboxone for about 3 years now. When i first started taking them i was taking 4 8mg pills a day. Then when i found out i was pregnant i started to cut myself back with the help of my doctor. Well i am due in 2 weeks and have gotten myself down to the 2mg pill and break it into quarters and take about 1mg a day sometimes only .5mg. I am trying to completely be off them before my daughter comes but i know the withdrawl is not good for me or her. Jus curious if you think she will come out with withdrawl symptoms if i cant get off the .5mg and how bad her symptoms will be??

I read a report on Msn that said there was less chance of the baby having withdrawal from wu ozone than methadone or opiates, but there were some mom's on 12 mgs whose baby had no withdrawal and some mom's on 2 mgs whose babies did have some. They couldn't explain it. My guess would be that since you have been using a dr who knows you are on it, you are in the best position to both be fine. Many mom's are on it and don't tell the ob or the pediatrician, find a pediatrician who has worked with newborns whose mom's were on subs, mynah is your best bet, it is more common than you think. That is why MSN did the article, to let women know to use drs who know about sub zone. Since younhave been reducing your dose, under a drs care, you should both be fine. Get your ob to help you find a pediatrician who works with subs babies. Congrats, my prayers are with you. Patti
