Ponstel (Mefenamic Acid): is a prescription medicine used for the relief of mild to moderate pain, including painful menstrual periods. Ponstel is in a class of drugs called NSAIDs.

Lortab is a prescription medication approved to treat moderate to moderately severe pain. Since it contains a narcotic (hydrocodone), it is classified as a controlled substance.

Both meds are in different categories, hope this helps? However consult a pharmacist/doc. for more information as they are more qualified & more competent.
