I have taken Rituxin with no improvement in platelet counts and Prednisone which has done a number on my weight and bones. Also had a splenectomy which kept my count up for year. My counts are now below 50 again.
How does danazol work in ITP patients?

"The mechanisms of action of danazol are unclear but involve impairment of macrophage-mediated clearance of antibody-coated platelets via decreased Fc
receptor expression"...
Or put a little simpler danazol reduces the ability of the body to remove platelets from the blood.
