Need to give my guinea pig a shot of Lasix for an upper respiratory infection. Treatment calls for Lasix 5% solution at a dose rate of 0.1ml. I have the 40mg tablets and need to know how much of the Lasix to give to a three pound guinea pig.
How do I figure out the correct dose of Lasix?

I'm very sure a oral solution of furosemide is available but if you really want to use the tablet I can't guarantee that the dose will be accurate as furosemide is not soluble in water and the medicine will only be suspended.
To make a 5% solution with the 40mg tablet, you need to crush the 40mg tablets very finely and add it to 800ml of water. Before administering 0.1ml of the solution please shake the liquid well.
