I was a grand mal epileptic as a child and have avoided anything that says "May cause seizures". My Dr. knows this and yet prescribed Tramadol 37.5 (2 every 6hrs) plus Lyrica 50mg plus Flexeril. I have only taken the Tramadol (1 at bedtime ) for 3 nites , and my body feels like it's vibrating.
I'm afraid to take all three meds together.
How common are seizures with tramadol?

I would trust your doctor. Tramadol can cause seizures but only is excessive amounts of the medicine. The Lyrica and Flexeril should be fine to take. When you say your body feels like it is vibrating, what do you mean, does your pulse increase? anxiety? What did the doctor prescribe these meds for?

Hi, although you should be aware of the fact that seizures are possible with tramadol, it is actually not as common as people think. As already stated, the seizure risk occurs generally when a very high dose is taken, for piece of mind, i used to take 1000mg tramadol a day for about a year, and i didn't have any seizures. Please be aware also though, that tramadol are highly addictive! It was only when i was withdrawing from them that i got pretty ill and then did have a seizure. I don't mean to scare you, just be sure you take them as directed by your doctor and only use them for as long as you need them.
Every thing I've read says Tramadol should only be used for no more than 5 consecutive days. Why are Drs prescribing it for long term and or high dosing? What do you take now if any?
I've never heard of them being restricted to 5 days, but maybe doctors are finally realising how addictive they can be, maybe this is a new guideline? I was prescribed them for a back injury and have been taking them now for 3 years +. I did stop for a while when i got off them at that high dose of 1000mg a day, but found it too hard to stay off them. I now take 8-10 a day, and my doctor/psychiatrist know i am taking them as a mood stabiliser rather than a pain killer. They really can be a very dangerous drug long term.

Sounds like a good combo of meds for the problems you describe. Trust the nurse practitioner and give them a try. I think you'll find some relief will help the anxiety.
