I am 19 weeks pregnant and i have been taking suboxone the whole pregnancy. my problem is all the doctors that i speak to tell do not stop taking the suboxone but at the same time none of them are able to prescribe me the medicine. all they do is recommend that i go to a methadone clinic and i am not comfortable with that at all. i do not want to stop taking 4-8mg of suboxone to start taking 30mg of methadone. these doctors are not living my life and i have done a lot of research on methadone and i dont like anything about it and more importantly i do not want to put my baby through that nasty drug suboxone is bad enough and i just feel horrible about the choices that i have made.

Whers are u living that is insain I live in utah of all places and I dont know one doc that wouldnt put me on it. I am.on subutex which is said to be safer. I was on methadone for a couple months and I got off it gets u high just like any opiet pills. I would call around more and try and get on subutex u wont wirhdrawl from suboxone to subutex but there has been no signs of baby withdrawls from subutex and its safe and cheaper then suboxone and methadone. Good luck keep strong but if all else fails do not withdrawl off anything u have to take a low dose of something to save the baby from miscarriage. Much love

Go to suboxone.com and use the dr locator service and make a list of all drs in your area who are licensed to write for suboxone/subutex and call them to see if they will write subutex for a pregnant mother. You might also try asking some pharmacists in your area which drs write subutex, congrats and good luck, patti
