DTIC-Dome (dacarbazine) is a cancer medication that interferes with the growth and spread of cancer cells in the body.
Dacarbazine is used to treat skin cancer (malignant melanoma) and Hodgkin's disease.
Actions
- Appears to exert cytotoxic effect by acting as an alkylating agent.
- Does not exhibit cell cycle-phase specificity.
- Synthetic analog of naturally occurring purine precursor 5-amino-1H-imidazole-4-carboxamide (AIC).
