Most medication for hypertension should be taken on an empty stomach. Having food or liquid in stomach can result in poorer absorption of the drug or an upset stomach. It generally takes 3 to 4 hrs for the stomach to empty after a full meal and a bit less after a snack or liquid though it varies depending on how much and what kind of food you ate. If you can it is easier to take adalat XL60 in the morning after you've fasted overnight. Wait at least 30 min before ingesting anything, and then take Metformin. I hope this will help.
