leronwith me SMOKING. I can't take that pill they have tried the gum, patch, ear thing, and now have the new smoking devices that just give you the nicotine but still puffing away. Any suggestions?? Leron

I havve heard an antideprrant works the best that it morw mind over matter. when i quit {several times} inatead of nic gum id breath my yeeth get the taste ut of my mouth and chew on crest gum that really help me hope it helps you god luck..jaime I really think putting the nic in your systems makes your brain think just smke the darn cig

Oh sweetie my Mother so dear died after surgery from smoking for 40 years, & made me promise to quit before she died. It took me another 20 years , but I did it, Just made up my mind that it was not good for me & no matter what I WAS QUITTING1 I did use the patch, but it made me sick to strong, so cut in half, & after about three days I just quit them too & haven't smoked since. It's a mind over matter thing my dear. My husband is still using the gum & lozenges. Costing us more than the damn cigs did. I told him he needs to smoke to stop his addiction to the lozenges! He didn't think it was too funny! I wish you the best, & hope you quit, It is HARD TO DO! Oh, & it's been seven years since I last smoked! ...

My husband's dad did the same thing only he chewed the gum for years and when he would get tired of chewing it he would put it behind his ear till he wanted again. Can you believe that. But he finally stopped the gum. Wish i could quit but it just seems i like it to much. I have quit off and on for years but get me stresses out and you know how it goes one drag is all it takes and your on your way again. My breathing specialist gets so mad at me as he wants me to quit but he does x-rays of my lungs every year and breathing tests and i am always fine. Oh i go to him as i need a c-pap. That's so funny! Must be the day for funnies on here! It took me soo long & many many tries believe me. When you are really ready you will know it. Don't let it stress you out too much or it's worse! My next door neighbor when we moved in coming walking over dragging his oxygen tank & smoking a cig. to welcome us to the neighrhood. He would literally light one from the other that way he didn't need a lighter ! He died very young at 58. Tis a shame & he was lucky he didn't blow himself to kindomcome before his time!
What finally got me to quit was a family reunion & out of 13 cousins & their 13 spouses. Only 3 of us smoked. My two brothers were here, & were former smokers that just quit just like that year ago. Anyway, they specifically asked me if I would please quit smoking. I promised when they all left I would The very next day I did. We are all getting up there, & my Uncle who had survived throat cancer from smoking died at 80 4 days after the reunion. He was very sick at the reunion, & it was his throat too again. Very sad & I don't want those diseases. Watched my Mom die because of smoking too. Lots to think about, but can't get SweetLemon my bestest friend ever to quit either. I hope she reads this later. She's not feeling to good today.Well, there my Motherly advice for the 3rd time today folks!Time to call it. Love ya all, & have a great weekend.
