Also, when your ms contin is going to be a large number, they combine the two, mscontin + Opana, to cut down on the side effects of too much of the sheer volume of, say 400+ in ms contin"s case. But, some dr.s don't like to give 2 extended relief meds at the same (like my gp)
However, my Pain dr. did ,a years ago, and they worked great together, fours hours spacing, in a 24 hr period!! maybe by now this will work.
