else have this allergy? Tis annoying, and I've taken back many cosmetic products recently, from Clinique to MAC, even Revlon products contain silk protien!! Durrrrrrr, very frustrating!
Yet most certainly NOT at the top of the food chain as far as med questions go!! So, sound off, any opinions, any other allergies to cosmetics out there?

Well, you know me, I am allergic to almost everything, but at times I just don't check the labels of everything!Sorry when I dob't. I've had makeup at times make my face swell up too. What a pain!!! Can't eat, can't go outside, can't get near the dog etc. etc... Gets to be a pain in the you know where!!! Good luck to my beautiful friend! You don't need makeup anyway...

I hear ya - it's a pain in the patootie to be allergic to something so common. You live here in the States right? I know with my glycol allergy Whole Foods really helps me. Yeah, they are expensive but they do have a lot of natural products that I don't know what I would do without. The key is to research everything in your life - read labels, read inactive ingredients on meds, call companies to find out what is in their products. Google your allergy and I'm sure you will find others with this and you can benefit from their research. And make sure every doctor you go to knows about your allergy, just in case! You might want to keep an Epi pen handy in case your allergic reactions would worsen quickly and you would stop breathing - that pen can save your life. Sorry you have to deal with another thing sweets - if I can help let me know. Like Mary, I'm allergic to the world and used to dealing with allergies. Love ya -

Just knew I could count on you ElizaJane to answer my Q!! Yes, the USA, but you know from where I hail, The Emerald Isle. EJ, I'd no idea that it could potentially be a dangerous allergy, could it be potentially dangerous?
I will check out Whole Foods, I'm a fan anyway, just never have I checked out a cosmetic aisle/department! There's one right close to me as well.

I don't know if it could get to be a dangerous allergy sweets - anytime you have an allergy - the potential is there. It wouldn't hurt to have that Epi Pen around - just ask your primary care to prescribe you (a couple) so have them in strategic places, and know how to use it. I would hate to lose you to something so treatable - be careful my dear. I hear what you're saying about google - you can't just "yahoo it" can ya? Funny - you've got me laughing now! My wife of 24... almost 25 years and a lot of the women I knew from high school 40 years ago use Bare Minerals which is the same as Bare Essentials.
They tell me it eliminated the allergic reaction problems they had with most makeups and I also am allergic to most of the makeups she used to wear but not Bare Minerals.
It is sold on QVC and must upscale malls also sell it.
A little goes a long way.
My only problem with it is that sometimes she jokes about going back to the makeups she knows I am allergic to if I kiss or bother her to much.

Lara, have you looked into the minerals based cosmetics? I don't know much about them since I generally don't use any makeup, but I do have some Avon minerals based eye shadows and they have other products also. They are supposed to be very pure. There are probably other brands out there that are similar also.. I just put a question into Avon's site about this - I'll let you know if I get anything back from them and what they say.

I think you would be VERY happy with Google Chrome. It's the latest and greatest of Google. You just go to google.com and download it. You should be able to log on to this newer Google. Anyway gotta run for now.

I doubt google has booted you. You said you were having computer problems. Perhaps you have a virus? My hubby is a computer tech and I have been a tech as well as a programmer, pretty much anything computer related, I've done it. Tell me what happens when you go to google. OK Terri, here goes... when I log on to google, my username goes in fine, but I put my password in and it shuts the entire thing off!! This has happened before too. Had to start an account with a diff company and I am not diggin' it!! I love google and I want back. Any ideas would be appreciated. I run my spyware every few days, so I don't know what the problem is!!! Thank you Terri I appreciate it sooooooooooo much!!!

Does it give you any kind of an error msg or does the whole window just close? Ane you using Internet Explorer (IE) and if so what version? I'm using Google Chrome. You could try downloading that. Also, if using IE you could try going to the newest version. If you need help with any of these let me know and I can walk you through it. Big hugs Terri.

Hey candy, you probably did not know I am actually a hairdresser, haha, I pay attention to ingredients of beauty products so I know what works and what doesn't and I have wavy, dry hair. Dimethicone is the active ingredient in most products that control frizz and it also helps moisturize and hides small wrinkles. It helps make the face look luminous too, that's why I knew of the icones that are in make up. Thanks, patti
