epidsodes of awakening in odd places! She went to Mexico and awoke in the lobby of the hotel at 5 am, totally lucid. Yet she does not recall how she got there! HELP, anyone with experience with this?
Thank you all in advance.

My mom has had night terrors all her life, Nothing as you described about waking up and not recall no, I had a friend that did something similar but I am not really of any help other than to say I have heard of a similar case, and most especially the night terrors. I wish her only the very best~
No she was not drugged, she has had these episodes since the age of 3, I found her in her closet once, searching for her horse!!! Very weird!! I don't have a clue about all of this, and the class trip to Mexico was great for her except for the lobby incident!!!
Dzoobaby just now recalled I had a friend in my teen years she had seizures, would have a out of it look for a short time and wake up in strange places, E.E.G. and she was place on antiseizure medications
I will A, I promise, yet what the F is this all about? I am terrified, yet controlling it in front of her. Thank you my friend!!!
Good, keep your calm, do not get desperate and please take her as soon as you and D can. I will keep you and your family in my prayers as I always do.

God has created Satan (chief spirit of Evil) who usually disturbs our dreams. he manage to come into our dream when we sleep without asking God for protection from the disturbance made by Satan (chief spirit of Evil). For that i will suggest some verses like she should pray 10 times the following verse "i seek protection of God from satan the rejected"
& also about sleep walks you should consult to some neurologist
I dont think SATAN is causing this disturbance with my daughter. Appreciate your concern though.
i mean to say that satan causes disturbances in dreams which cause nightmares but for sleep walks you should consult to some neurologist ..

Lara, I did this as a child too. I lived in Brewer Maine at 5 years of age & one night the police found me in the middle of the bridge between Brewer & Bangor! My Dad said he could have long conversations with me too that I never remembered. Except for the bridge thing I guess I never gave anyone a big scare, & think I must have outgrown it because I don't do it anymore. Can only remember 1 weird incident as an adult. I woke up one night trying to answer the phone by banging my head on a pipe under the bathroom sink! That's what woke me up! about knocked me silly. So unless it's bothering her I wouldn't get too concerned. She'll probably outgrow it. Just tie a bell around her ankle in the meantime! Mary
Mary, I love ya Lady! Thanks for the laugh, I really needed it. You are so funny, you actually banged your noggin on a bathroom pipe to answer a phone? You are one wild woman!
Lara
Yes I did. And it was still ringing so I did hear it!

I did it years ago, & my parents took me to see a shrink, who advised a very simple remedy, before going to sleep ensure that the sleep walker is 'tired' enough so that he/she does not have the energy to 'sleep walk' as suggested by other friends you must seek medical advice, and please take it easy & with a smiling & calm composure.
God bless, keep me posted, please.

Hi there sweetlemon. Its saturday morning, tad late, and hope that you managed to get some sleep of your own. You probably worrying yourself up a storm. I think that its something todo with her sleep pattern. Duh! My turn to try at humor. Way to go ! Seriously, I'll share this and it just demonstrates behaviour, how things can, in odd ways, become a part of sleep patterns. When I was a child between... 6 and 8 years, I shared a bedroom with an older brother. Given that he was two years older, he was allowed to stay up, oh, 30 minutes to an hour after my bed time. I would then throw temper tanturms, untill my father would enter the room, telling me, that as long as I kept calling for attention, my brother would stay awake. This would repeat itself, many times, untill my father, would threaten to give me a spanking etc. My father by this time, would be almost in a rage, very angry. It took my bringing him to a breaking point, then I would be quiet.
Hi rajive, pledge, mary, maso, and all that replied,
I think I know what is happening to her, it is called Remsleep Behaviour Disorder, when we sleep we get "paralyzed" in rem sleep, my daughter does NOT. I have always suspected that this was the cause yet did not know that it had a name!
Thank you maso, the links you provided were great, and I now know what to call this weird behaviour!!! You really are a prince good sir!
Let's hope the kid doesn't run out in traffic or something, oh geez, why did I think of that???
Lara
Hello to everyone once again. Interesting sweetlemon. I must have heard of it, at some point but truly can't remember. Makes perfect sense though. I wonder then, just asking or talking out loud (my thoughts)... how long a period of time it takes for her to get into REM. Isn't it say for the average sleep... 4 hours or so? Curious also, if thier is a treatment for it? Medication? Either way, now you have an answer and that is something. Goodnews. And watch out for those cars.

I have done this all my life, and still do. Started out sleepwalking as a child and young adult, progressed into night terrors 4 and 5 times a night in my 30's and in my 40's and now I sleep walk, eat, wake up standing (I'm in a wheelchair!), having been sleeping on the toilet for 2 hours (that hurts) - all kinds of things. I've done a perfect swan dive out of bed onto the carpet (that hurt too), pulled a bureau down onto myself, rescued my daughter down a flight of stairs from what I thought was a fire - amazing things. I eventually saw a neurologist who specializes in sleep disorders (sleep is a big thing nowadays - you should be able to find one) and he had me stay overnight for a sleep test. They wire your head, arms, legs, with electrodes that can read brain waves, sense movement, etc and you sleep there with a technician monitoring your sleep.
EJ,
You made me laugh girl !! I think RBD is exactly what my daughter has, the lack of paralyzation while sleeping, so she acts out her dreams! You are one smart cookie EJ, thank you!!
Lara
When I was in the Air Force I lived in the dorms and my roommate and I had bunk beds. My roommate woke up one night to find me holding on to the side of the bunk bed shaking it with all my might and staring out the side of it screaming "It's a train - the trains coming!!" She jumped down from the top bunk trying to wake me up - I really thought there was a train ready to run us over! I can remember the light of the train being right at my face (it was my desklight that I had turned on somehow). I don't think Pattijean ever really got over that - she moved out soon after. She said I could do more in one night than some people did in a whole day!

Sweetlemon,
Hey girl, long time no see! Well, at least we know it has nothing to do with CHINS(LOL). Seriously though. Just talked with a friend of mine and she said it may actually have something to do with your daughter's brain activity-nothing to worry about though. Like the person posted above, her body might be tired, but her thoughts and stuff are still active. My friend said a sleep study might be ordered and the doctor (probably a neurologist) will look at her brain wave activity and have a better understanding of what's oing on. Hang tough kiddo... a let me know how everything turns out.
HI Psyched!!!
Yeah dude, NO CHINS!!! LOL, that made me laugh sooooo hard, that you remembered that Q!!! I saved that one, still have it!!
Thank you so much for your input. I will take her to a neuro dude that I saw last week. Just want to rule out anything scary.
Yer pal,
Lara
I did this brain wave thing.they had me show up at 9:30 AM for the appt., wired my whole head up had me lay down on a strange bed with all the lights on, & told me to go to sleep. about 20 sedonds later she says "all done"! Heck I just just gotten woke up with 2 cups of coffee & a shower! Needless to say I didn't go to sleep for the test, & they had to repeat it. I had to take a zanax to get sleepy enough to fall asleep in a strange place & had to tell them to shut the lights out. Duh! You'd think they would have thought of that. Just some thoughts in case they suggest this test.. Make sure it's done at a time of day she might be tired. Good luck Lara, but I still think she will outgrow it. Your friend, Mary

Hi Sweetlemon,
I had episodes of sleepwalking and getting in the shower, but not waking up - making a sandwich, a few other things, my mom told me - I have no memory, but that was during puberty when everything goes crazy, per the doc it wasn't that unusual. After that it stopped, until I started taking sub. At the beginning I did all sorts of things like get up and start putting on make-up at 3:00 am like I was getting ready for work. Or find my self walking around my room, trying to make up my bed. I also talked in my sleep a lot. But I think it was all the sub, cause it's stopped. How old is your daughter? That's kind of scarey ending up in the lobby - someone could have bothered her, thank God she awoke lucid. I'd suggest taking her to the Dr. they may even want to put her in a sleep clinic for a few nights, they can check her brain waves, etc. I'm sure it's nothing serious - lots of people are sleepwalkers, they may give her medicine that would help stop it.
Good luck and let us know!
Thank you Lola for your response. I went cold turkey off Oxy (prescribed) and did all sorts of whacky sleep talking too!
My daughter is a teenager, but past puberty. And we are very lucky no one tried to hurt her while in the lobby!!!

My sister slept walked in her childhood with vivid dreams & my Mom used to have night terrors so bad that she would scream in her sleep and it sounded like it was from a horror movie which terrified me as a child.
I think a great idea is to use some time of device that sounds an alarm to wake your daughter if she gets up and starts sleep walking. I'm sure some company has made a device just for that.
Hope it helps; just a thought
HI R!!!
Where have you been gurl? I've missed ye!!
There are alarms made exactly for this purpose, found some online.
Thanks R, hope to see you around more often!!!

Hi S,
Since being poisoned on OC's I was switched to Kadian (a long acting Morphine capsule) that has helped my pain tremendously; even able to take less pain meds/mgs in a day but found out that the OC I was on for over 11yrs also gave me energy that Morphine takes away. I've had 50% less energy since being put on it in mid December. At first I thought it was Winter but now that's it started to warm up, I have spoken to others that are going through the same thing; all blaming it on Morphine and saying the OC's did give us energy.
I never knew how much until now.
Sorry I'm not online as much but I'm really trying to rebuild my strength up. It hasn't been easy but you know me; I will never give up.
Hugs

Hey, Lara, I had bad night terrors as a child, but progressed to sleepwalking in my teens. The episodes did not last very long (14-16yrs of age), but scared my mom a great deal to where she insisted on setting up a cot in my room. Mom's, Gods bless you all, eh.
I'm not saying that this is what S is going through, but my doctor told us that it had to do with being under stress. I turned out fine, depending on one's definition of fine ;-) I'm surprised I hadn't spoken of this to you before.
Hope all is well with you, S, and D. Have you taken her to the neurologist yet?
Love,
Dave
D,
You never told me about your night terrors! And I thought I knew so much about thee! She has not had an incident since class trip to Mexico, so no, I've not taken her YET, but I will if it happens again, and I am reluctant to admit, IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.
Had an allergic reaction to the Cymbalta buddy, my feet and twigs swelled up... yet again, ugh, I fear there is nothing else for me to try for the fibro!
I can so believe your Mum set up a cot in your room, I slept on S's bedroom floor when she had Pnuemonia! We can't help ourselves pal, we love our children so!!!
Love,
Lara

I had night terrors alot when i was a child... into my early teens for a couple yrs (first time i was 14) i had had similar things happen. I remember being outside in the middle of the night and my mother yelling at me because she thought i was sneaking out. I had no recollection getting outta bed either. i guess i just woke up when she was scolding me... i am almost 23 now n they have stopped. idk y... my BF for the past 5yrs is a light sleeper and would wake if i got outta bed. I havent at all anymore. He says i do talk in my sleep alot. He has said he has held conversations with me n he had brought some up the next day and i have no recollection of anything, not even a dream. I RARELY dream anymore too n when i do, they usually arent nightmares anymore, just weird alot... also, i forgot, 1 time a few yrs back my BF did say i woke up and looked at him and punched him in the NO-NO's and layed back down. but besides that, no sleep action anymore besides talking and that usually happens when im stressed out or havent been getting alot of sleep.
Thanks Michelle,
You punched him in the NO NO's, oh my, bet that hurt!!! lol
