Help with Ambien and not sleeping thru the night?

Hello and Greetings Wizard,

Well, from one insomniac to another, you sound just like me. And we both need help. I'm working on my sleep issues with my psychiatrist because I have a lot of other problems, too. Wiz, when I took Ambien, it was like almost popping a sugar coated sugar pill. I might start to feel like I could relax and drift off to sleep, but once my head hit the pillow... EYES WIDE OPEN... and I found that an impossible way to sleep. Good grief.

Ambien CR might be what u need, but only u and your doc can make that decision, since you are able to at least get a start on sleeping. Right now I am trying Triazolam, and I can only hope that this different hypnotic will ease me off to never never land. I also take Depakote 2000 mg and 2 mg Klonopin. Such is life.

Years ago, whilst in the depths of depression, I did not sleep for almost 3 years and it didn't matter what I took i.e.barbituates, every tranquilizer, chloral hydrate... no sleep... just cried. I was in graduate school and once I was sleep deprived, I couldn't think. Made school kinda hard, but I still got A's. Ya do whatcha gotta do, so I dd it. Good grades were expected and then I crashed and burned.
