I have been taking 30 mgs a day and am down to 15 mgs now. What I need to know is at what point do I stop all together and when I do how long will it take to clear my system. I'm on it for chronic pain associated with Lupus and RA. I am tired of the fatuige and sweating that are side affects of the methadone. not to mention the pain in the rear it is to get my script every month. Have any of you found releif from anything that is not addictive? Thank you

Me and my husband are were both on methadone but we decided to quit cold turkey because downsizing seemed like it would take forever!!! WE were at fourty mg and downsized two mg a week we were at 32mg when we decided to just quit it all together!I havent quit yet because we decided he would do it this weekend and i will do it next so we can take care of each other. His last dose was on thursday morning at seven or eight am and here now it is monday at 5:46 pm.He said the first three days are a little bit uncomfortable and annoying but VERY doable last night was his third night and he started physically feeling a little better. But this morning he woke up on the fourth day and is feeling no physical withdrawals now its the mental but you will always have to deal with mental withdrawals after getting off something like this.
He said if he could do it again he would just do what he did and quit cold turkey because it really wasnt that bad,i know its different for everyone so i will tell you what happens to me this weekend! At night he took midol pm haha and it really helped and also niquil to sleep!I know you said you have lupus im very sorry i had a cousin who had to deal with that. Me and my husband take methadone for heroin addiction.I dont know if you will be for or against this but the whole time he was going through withdrawals he smoked spice which you can get at smoke shops, its just pretty much the same thing as weed but its legal and doesnt show up in drug tests you smoke it the same as weed and it looks the same but it smells like insence and thats what they sell it as... But he smoked that the whole time and said it took away almost all the withdrawals!!! Its not addictive and it really helps with pain i dunno i just wanted to share our experience since it wasnt a bad one and he got through it easy he now just feels mentally and physically drained but thats what always happens when you quit something of this magnitude!!! Anyway if you have any questions just ask i hope all is well, Bri
