No, you need an antidepressant for that. Seroquel is an anti-psychotic, not an anti-depressant. As such it has some side effects that can be problematic. It can be used with an anti-depressant if it doesn't work alone, but its not for depression when given alone.

Hello,

I take Seroquel for many years, it is a great atypical antipsychotic for the treatment of bipolar disorder (which I suffer from all my life, I am 43 years of age and suffer from other conditons as well), schizophrenia and it may be prescribed to treat depression. Now off-label use , amongst other conditions, treats anxiety.

I take it too sleep.I don't like taking it during the day for depression or anxiety because it doesn't help with either especially my anxiety.on top of that it makes me feel empty minded in my opinion u need an anti depressant n anti anxiety for that.like the answers before seroquil is not an anti depressant. hope this novel I just wrote helps at least a lil :) lol
