on Prozac brand for 3 weeks with wellbutrin 150 mg-depression and anxiety increased with 300mg pill of wellbutrin xl for 9 days-now back to 150mg but bad anxiety continues

6 weeks ago I stopped cymbalta cold turkey per dr orders or ok, went into severe drug withdrawal, told to start prozac with the wellbutrin xl I had been on with cymbalta-did nothing-3 weeks of withdrawal, then kept on wellbutrin and prozac-when wellbutrin was increased to 300 tab a day with 20-40 prozac-very bad crying i could not stop and anxiety, nausea, terrible time with that-now I still have anxiety really bad and trying to start every other day with wellbutrin xl to see if it helps-been on brand Prozac for 3 weeks now-I do not know which is really giving me the severe anxiety and at times worse depression whic all i can do is cry and feel very desperate--anyone??????

First of do not get desperate ok, that will only make you feel worse.
Before I got on the right meds "combo"
I tried so many that some worked for a while and some did not.
You have to give the meds some time for them to kick in every organism has a different reaction to the drug, for me it might take longer or less... it all depends, also if you have high tolerance levels to the chemicals compounds of the drugs.
I know how u r feeling... been there ..but desperation wont get you anywhere.
I wish you the best get that anxiety issue solved I hate it so much

I agree, let your doctor know immediately or asap that you are having this much anxiety. There are a ton of anti depressants and even though they are supposed to work about the same, they seem to make people feel differently, even people with the same family. Personally, I suspect it is the Wellbutrin that is causing this, but I am NOT a doctor or nurse, it made me manic and it almost sounds like you may be experiencing that. You seem to have given it a fair shake ( the correct amount of time) but the doctor does need to know that you feel this bad. You can always talk to a pharmacist if you think you have an emergency and they may help guide you as to whether you may need to go to the ER or if it can wait until you can see or talk to the doctor. Pharmacists know alot more about medications that the doctors do. If you can see a psychologist or psychiatrist who specializes in depression and anxiety, they usually are as knowledgeable about the differences in these medications and may be able to get you back to normal faster. Hope you get relief soon.

Please talk to your Dr now or call the ER nurse on call and discuss this with her. I have been on 450mg wellbutrin and 80mg prozac for many years with none of these reactions you are describing. I realize we are all different but you may have something else going on that is affecting these meds. Good Luck

Dr sounds good but , anxiety is a huge detox symptom so i would be checking if you have other detox symptoms, clamy hands, upset belly, hot ,cold flushes, change in eye size, tremors, aches pains ect ect, these symptums in them selves provoke anxiety if you havent detoxed before. Doc can check this and if its the meds he or she can adjust this whiler checking blood presure and other detox symptums. Ive been in horrible places similar to you and i no its so cruel, i wont pretend to no how hard this is for you but i hope your suffering gets better.After you seee your doc write down some things, to get them out your head and write up a plan you can feel confident with, I will be doing the same today , hope i was helpfull, things will get better:) cheers richard

Howdy; welbutrin is a "kick ass drug"! It's purpose is to get you going again, if you're way way down in the dumps or you've hit bottom, and you got no place else to go. That hurts real bad ! ! I got a lot of years on "citalopram, welbutrin ,sertraline, prozac, get off the welbutrin asap. try citalipram or sertraline as they're both more of a calm you down and relax you type drug. I have the symptoms of nausea-upset stomach-loss of appetite-since on wellbutrin increased blood pressure-sweating-now anxiety-also on 20mg prozac-I was on 300 mg of wellb. for nine days,had meltdown-dr, cut it back to 150 again-had bad depression and anxiety from it plus stomach upset again-then I cut it back to one every other day-anxiety worse-does anything I cut it back too fast??? I am now thinking that is part of the problem now with me-maybe I need to slow the tapering down more-anyone with any experience with this is welcome to give me a comment on my situation--Thank You-Sandy

Thank you-I,too, feel it is the wellbutrin xl-I took prozac many years ago and only had nausea for a couple of weeks, no anxiety like this, It says to be very caut ious when taking it with another antidepressant like prozac anyway. I am taking the wellb. every other day now for 3 days but maybe the anxiety is from that also--thank you and anymore ideas I am open to.
I have anxiety/panic disorder and am very sensitive to anti depressants. I am NOT bi polar but I got a taste of how the mania felt on wellbutrin and effexor. Scary! I can take a child's dose of amitriptyline (10 mg) and 10mg of generic prozac and I can feel it after a week and either skip a day or take 1 one day and the other the next. The amitriptyline is great for my fibromyalgia and the prozac works better for panic/anxiety. Took me a while to figure out that this works for me.
do you think I should stay on the Prozac at this time? (I just ask for your opinion) since you do take it-my depression is not so bad today, the panic is-3 weeks for it is close for it to work fully I believe--thank you for answering=I do have a Psichiatrist oops-treating me-but he took me off the cymbalta cold turkey and really messed me up 6 wks ago-no trust in him any longer--Sandy
It would probably be best to stay on the prozac for now and get in touch with the doctor asap to see if they may want to take you off the wellbutrin. I can't really even say to stop the wellbutrin, but, I do know both my sister and I had reactions to it and they were different. I got mania and couldn't pee. She went to the ER, she goes more than I think she should but, that is my opinion, she used to work in an ER. See if you can get your doctor or one in the group to call you back today and advise you. If you tell them your symptoms, and not that you are reading opinions on here, you will get a better answer. They need to know what is going on with you and may get snappy if you mention that you were asking around to non professionals.
