I have fibromyalgia for over 3 years. Bad bladder and bowel symptoms. My GP has given me Vesicare to "Try" to see if this helps. I have had osteoarthritis, in every joint, for over 20 years. days are full of pain. I am not happy with trying Vesicare after reading side effects. I do not wish to appear reluctant to my GP as they say you are not trying to help yourself. I do like to research though.
Has anyone with fibromyalgia been given Vesicare?

Yorkilady, I dont know any one taking Vesicare but I can relate to your situation. I have had Fibro for two and a half years. Along with arthritis in my hands and knees. Now,I haven’t written to this forum in over a year. Let me tell you why.
I have always been a very active person. I played sports all my life. I love to work in the yard. I would rather be outside than inside. A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Boy was I in a lot of pain. I’ve always been very healthy, so when I started hurting so bad I was really worried at what the prognosis might be. I tried everything to get relief. Massages, muscle injections, you name it. I was on Thyroid medicine, pain relievers and a sleeping tablet.

I have been living with Fibromyalgia for over 30 years and know that most people who suffer this disease have bladder and bowel problems. Ask your pharmacist if Vesicare will interfere with your pain medications. There are several that say do not take if you are on Vesicare. I have not tried it, but when I have a new medicine I get the best info from my pharmacist because he knows the direct interactions with your other medications better than your doctor. I hope it helps to relieve some of your symptoms! Hang in there, tomorrow is another day!

Well I think as you listed incontinence as a medical problem this is what the Vesicare is for, not your Fibromyalgia. You need to talk to your doctor more thoroughtly about your treatment. Maybe you need a good work up by a Rheumatologist instead of a GP. Just my thoughts...
