I've been on every acne therapy available, from antibiotics both topical and oral, plus retin-A, accutane, dermabrasion surgery, freezing and lots of OTC products. I can't seem to get rid of it for more than a week. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. I feel like it will never go away.

I am older than you by 2 years and did have acne on my face and back etc as a teen, still have some acne now but not as bad as then. I would advise coming off the antiboitics as you can become resistant to them taking them full time., and the topical stuff is very harsh on the skin too. I use a very gentle skin wash either olay or dove, wash my face several times a day with this, and then use a face cream such as olay for skin for women of our age. It does get better as time goes on. I cannot believe my hair still gets greasy at my age but it does, so i am washing it still at least three or four times a week. One advantage is of course is that we have not got dry skin so wrinkles are less advanced. Try the gentle approach and see if it helps you too. good luck to you.

Thanks! I will think about giving this a try. Right now, I use Neutrogena acne soap and I don't use a face cream or moisturizer because I felt since my skin was oily, I didn't need one. Maybe I will try this though and switch to the olay or dove. Appreciate your taking the time to respond! :)
glad to hear that you will try this, I used to use face mask, and really take a lot of the oil out my skin thinking it was the right thing to do to rid myself of those spots, but you know as with my hair if I used shampoo for greasy hair, I am sure it strips all the oil out of your hair and and so the folllicles replace it,causing it to get oily again. So now i use normal shampoo, and it works. So as i said before give it a go, would love to hear if it helped, really hope it does!!!
PS. Oil of olay although it is called oil of does not leave a greasy residue on the skin. I find it soaks in to the skin and feels just cleansed and refreshed. Our skin is less subtle than when we were young remember. spots are a pain when we are this age I know,
Hi again. :) I was wondering if you could recommend which type of Olay product I could start with, to give it a try? I went to my Harmon store today, and there were so many Olay products that I got confused. Should I just start with a regular Olay cleanser? (Sorry to bother you again.)
No no probs at all, I use a gentle Olay cleanser, it is in a white bottle with blue on in a black print writting, I just wet my face first, then put some of the face wash on my hand and just gentle put in all over my face and then gentle rinse it off, it makes your face feel really clean. Then the cream I put on is olay too. White small tub with black top, rejuvinating cream., only need a small amount on your face and neck. Hope you can find what you need now, and it helps.
hey how ru doin, wondered how its goin with the olay skin wash. creams, are you seein any improvement yet, hope you are. hertsandbucks.
