Zyrtec is used to treat itching and swelling caused by chronic urticaria (hives).
I have taken it for hayfever and find it very effective, but haven't taken it for urticaria.

Zytec has been the only medication that I've taken that actually relieves me my hives temporarily, however, the hives keep reappearing. I've been prescribed Atarax and I was always spaced out. I'm hoping for a medication that will keep urticaria(hives) at bay. I think hives have a lot to do with ones immune systems.
