Christie00My head has been hurting BAD for a few days and I have been weak and very fatigued. I don't know if its from coming off the medication or the flu. In the medication guide it does not say anything about like what I am experiencing. Any answers on your getting off Seroquel would help. Thanks. :(

Hi christie,
How many mg's of seroquel were you on and how long were you on it for??
If you just stopped suddenly that is why you are experiencing withdrawls from the med,you need to taper slowly off this med to stop feeling so horrible,i'm also trying to get off it,i've gone from 300mg to 150mg,i'll have to go down to 100 then 50 before i can stop altogether.
Its best doing it that way then just stopping abrubtly.

Hi, i just wanted to say that i was on seroquel and it was one the worst side effects that i have ever had off of a med besides my pain med withdrawls which i am still on. when getting off seroquel i had the same side effects that you had, felt like a bad bad flu, nervouse, had a hard time sleeping, everytime i got up or threw out the day i would get at least 200 very quick head spins they would only last for maybe 2 seconds but they drove me crazy and they lasted for well over a month, they drove me nuts as well as the flu feeling i had... hope i could be a help? But you also helped me because now i know i was not going nuts like people thought i was. lol... and also i felt like i had little tiny guys in my brain taking a sludge hammers and hitting me in my head, thus giving me the worse head pain i had ever had.. lol.. its not funny but thats the only way i can exsplain it.. mickey from shi-town. Well I was on 300 XR for about a year for 'insomnia' and it was the only thing that worked to knock me out. So I got on the AZ&Me Script plan which gave me 30 pills free every month for a year.
When I moved to FL with my parents and finally had the financial help to see neurologist and my neuro said I should get off the anripsychotic and on Neurotin 300mg, cause my limbs popping would keep me from sleep!
But the Seroquel was extended release and warns not to break in half. Thankfully I had some 150s that were samples from a while ago but I only had 4.

Then I just stopped it all together. I know that was prob bad but I don't have insurance and didn't want to pay the high cost of consultation at Mental Health Clinic ($300 to be exact and that's what I paid for Neuro consult and GI doc consult cause I needed to get proof of my condition to hopefully get Medicaid and other help) I didn't wanting to pay for MH visit and script when I was getting off the stuff. Ugh I should have figured something out though cause I feel like crap.
And since I have been off it for about a week now I don't want to start taking the 300XR in pieces right?
You're right Christie,dont break the extended release into bits,i was thinkin the same thing with my 150's but then read that you cannot break them up,so i have to go the long route of going back and fourth to a pyschiatrist whom i dont trust,but i now cant get app til dec,so i'm stuck on the 150 til then or else just go without and suffer the wd's,which i'm not too eager to do!! I'm ina pickle at the mo,but trying to see can i get another app.

Yeah I have been off for a week and a day so I'm just gonna deal and everyday does get better. It is hard to find a good pysch doc so I wish you all the best on that one! I'm glad I don't have to deal with them anymore! I like my neurologist and liver doc WAY better! Cause they are what I needed from the start. Thank you for your responses and I will message you and see how you are doing. :)
It seems like you are over the worst and i do hope that every day gets better for you!!
Keep me posted as to how you are doin,i understand about the shrinks prescribing these meds,someones i think i am just a gunnie pig for them trying so many different ones and nothing helping.Its very frustrating,but i'm happy to hear you have found the right people to help you along!!
