Betty, I have been a hairdresser for 27 years. I promise you there are only a couple of things that work. You can take a stresstab with zinc everyday on a full stomach and brush your hair for 5 minutes everyday. The stresstab with zinc are the same vitamins as the hair vitamins but cheaper and you only have to take 1 a day. You can ask your pharmacist for the store brand and it will work just as well. It works indirectly as the hair contains no vitamins, but, it works and sends the signal to make more hair. Brushing your hair makes the blood come up to the scalp and the follicles get their food from the blood somehow. Also, eat proper protein, red meat works the best, but chicken, beans, peanut butter and eggs are all protein. Hair grows roughly 5/8 an inch a month and it will take about 6 months before you see a real difference. Some thyroid conditions make the hair grow slower. Make sure you use a good conditioner, professional, from a salon.
