My pharmacy was out of the brand name, so they gave me the generic. I am taking this for the first time. Do I want the brand name to start out with?

I have found no difference between the brand, Wellbutrin, and the generic, bupropion XL. If you are just starting this medication, keep in mind it will take upwards of a month to reach maximum effectiveness and you may have to have your dosage adjusted after the first few weeks.

Is there a reason that the generic form would work less well than the name brand? The name brand is much more expensive.
