Gabapentin - I am alleric to oxycontin. Would this med be the same catagory. Just started today for

opiates have not proven to be all that successfull for any type of neuropathy pain. Gabapentin and it's stronger brother Lyrica are usually used for nerve pain... Dave

yes, oxycontin is a narcotic and in completely different category than neurontin (gabapentin) and lyrica. however, i had side effects from neurontin like dizziness, feeling high ect, but i took really high doses. abandoned it for lyrica.
