There is no cure for COPD and treatment is designed to relieve your symptoms and to keep the disease from getting worse.
Fludrocortisone, an oral corticosteroid, may need to be given in severe cases or during flare-ups.
All medicines have risks, but your doctor in choosing to prescribe this to you has decided that the benefits of taking fludrocortisone outweigh any risks.
Talk with your doctor if you are concerned.
