I am a nurse. A patient has been taking Florinef for a long time and has hyponatremia.

Metabolic side effects of Forinef have included significant sodium retention, hypokalemia and hypocalcemia. Other side effects have included hyperglycemia, glycosuria, and negative nitrogen balance due to increased protein catabolism.

It does not cause hyponatremia.
