Dear newmolly.My heart goes out to you. All of us with c.diff are in various degrees of desparation. We ALL hope Dificid is the answer. I note that your enquiry about where to buy the drug is back in June and this is Nov. Hopefully you have found a source and if you have please tell me how it is working as I begin using it in a few day. Failed vacomycyn but must take it to the end before starting Dificid.Here is where I was able to obtain it: Fairview Pharmacy,4044 Nesconset Highway, Port Jefferson Station, NY 11776. I am also about to begin Florastar, the new probiotic. I wonder if anyone has any experience with that. Money? Don't even mention it! My so-called "Cadillac" insurance policy agreed to a tremendous co-pay (eleven hundred dolars) after much pleading. The future? Buy a lot of diapers and stand in line. Keep fighting... there are a lot of us with you. Sandy534

Florastor is great! Our gastro doc suggested it. My wife & I have been fighting c. diff since June of 2012. Had Flagyl, vanocomycin, & Dificid is the best! $3,000 a prescription, but with our insurance only a $20 copay. Floraster is a probioitc & is the best there is. Buy it at Walgreens as it's at least $5.00 cheaper than CVS. They have a sale this week to buy one at $17.99 & get one 50% off. Wife is fighting another infection in her finger so on antibiotics again, & you guessed it, C. diff again & was put on Dificid yesterday & florastor. Already feeling better. Dificid is fairly new so why it's so expensive.
