Fibromyalgia - Dealing with newly diagnosed Fibro, 2 different doctors prescribed meds for muscle?

You didn't mention if they gave you any other meds for fibro? I took Savella and it really helped the RLS... mindy

Hi again, Deevine Miss M, mindy again here, I was just being silly about your name, my best friend's name happens to be Bette! humor gets me through the days and nights... anyway, I am 61 and just got diagnosed about 2-3 months ago with Fibro so I am in the learning stage myself, what a long strange trip it's been. I found a site with alot of good info, about.com/health/ and search for Fibromyalgia... there's also a columnist there named Adrienne Dellwood who has it herself and I find it all very educational. My advice to you is to get familiar with the condition first by research and then the drugs before you start taking a bunch of them as they are not that easy to get off of if they don't work for you. As long as you disclose to both doctors all meds you are on yes as well a pharmacy if using the same one would catch it if they cant be combined. I have actually been diagnosed for 6 almost 7 years now. If you can wean down I recommend it as fibro is a very difficult disease to try to sort out. What works for one doesnt work for another so you will often find they change them based on your results. My suggestion get a notebook and keep a log. Dates what you took and how you felt. Over time some meds you will acclamate to as well and you will have to switch or go higher take more etc. I take Savella 50mg 2xday. I also take Hydrocodone for pain, methacarbomol as a muscle relaxer and trazadone at night to sleep and help with depression as well as wellbutrion in the morning for depression. I can finally say I have some peace and still have pain that averages a 4 a day but vs. a 9-10 daily I will take it. I wish you luck and if you ever want to pick mybrain your welcome to.
