While nortriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant, it is occassionally prescribed for nerve pain. I have taken it many years ago, as it is an old drug (has been around for along time).

I must add that there are many newer drugs that are effective against nerve pain so if the nortriptyline doesn't work for you, there are alternatives. Be aware that this drug has side effects. Plug it into the drug finder and read about them if you wish.

Have you tried other less invasive methods to cure your pain, like physical therapy or chiropractor. Treating the problem rather than just the symptoms maybe in order. Something to think about anyway.

Laurie is right just read the link she has given you and maybe you can talk with the doctor about other possible options if you find that this gives you any problems but again it may work and you may find that things will improve please take care and let us hear from you, We do care, Billy (Caringsonbj)
