Expired Lovaza giving me GI upset?

Details:

My doctor gave me a couple cases of Lovaza that I've been taking. Suddenly I started getting stomach pains in the morning and burping up fish. I finally realized that the pills expired in May and June (it's Aug 31st). Is this the cause of my GI upset?

I doubt that this is the problem. Sounds more like your condition has changed. You should see the doctor asap about this... Good luck..Dave

I don't have a condition, he put me on it for Omega 3 benefits. Supposedly he tries to get all of his patients on it.

There is only a 2.7% chances of taste pervision to this drug.You might try chewing gum before taking this pill. Then take the pill. As for the expired drug. You may not get the same prescriptive results than if the drug was fresh.

I used to be a rep for Lovaza so I know A LOT about it, but not what happens to expired pills. I keep it in the fridge and even then I know it's rare for eructing and taste perversion. However, back in May, June and even July I didn't have this problem. Suddenly it started with the same batches. I didn't realize my doctor gave me pills that were expiring (Probably to get them off his hands) until today when I looked at my sample bottle. I eat before taking it too.

I would call the company and ask them, maybe they have heard of your problems. They will send a rep. out to exchange the old pills for new ones.
