I don't know why but I have heard of someone else getting the estradiol ring for recurrent urinary tract infections (and it really helped). May be your doctor thinks you have atrophic urethritis, which could be causing the urinary tract infections.

Estradiol can be used to treat Atrophic Urethritis.
