I am having ZAPS was on all meds for about 5 years, I gave up my hip insurance for medicaid because my son had moved in, after 6 months he wanted to go back to my fathers I lost ALL insurance... I am completely out of all meds my aorta was calcified a little over 2 years ago, my health is chronic, I have filed for ssi/disability, I have a horrible right leg from getting it crushed in car wreck its taken out my back and hip, caused me to gain at least 50 lbs, I am having really bad ZAPS, tearing, in horrible pain, what do I do? I am also a recovering alcoholic when I put my beer down I got all these health issues... I wonder if I will die? My blood pressure is horribly high..

Hey tammyjo,
Please don't panic, you are not going to die, but you are going to suffer withdrawls from the Lortab and the Lexapro. Stopping the Toprol and the Lipator should not cause withdrawls but the blood pressure is not controlled now because of the lack of Toprol. You can do without the Lipator for a whille but you will need to address the high cholesterol by being very strict in your diet. Let work on this one step at a time.
First, is the same doctor prescribing all of your meds? I would contact the prescribing doctor of each and see if you can get samples for the Lexapro, the Toprol and even the Lipitor. The Lortab I don't believe you will be able to get samples for. Just explain the situation to the doctor(s) and ask if they can temporarily give you samples. That will give you time to contact the drug manufacturers to get on their patient assistance programs.
Its been over 2 weeks, I am still having SHOCKS, numbness, etc. Headaches, really edgy. I have been referred to a clinic here in town, in the meantime the doctors gave me NO samples and if and when I do get my insurance back I am seeking a different physician FOR SURE, I had been going to FIRST HEALT CARE and in 6 months they had not once offered to even take my blood, I even asked them too, my leg was crushed in a car wreck some 14 years ago and I spent my time aguring with at least 5 different doctors afraid to precribe pain meds, when they should have Focussed on my other health issues, I was assigned to them through medicaid. I have been to 2 orthapedics surgeons with no hopes of total knee replacement, I have slowed down because of my leg, I use a cain, its taking out my back.

Thank you very much, I have been going to the same clinic but the doctors I have seen in the past 6 months have moved elsewhere, when I called them on friday they could not find my chart they said... geez I am going to them in person on Monday. THANK YOU FOR THE PHONE NUMBERS!!!
Hey tammyjo,
Definitely go by the clinic and let them know of your situation. If they can't help ask them what they recommend. Are you able to monitor your blood pressure today and tomorrow? You can take over the counter pain medication until you talk to the clinic on Monday. Keeping the pain under control will also keep the blood pressure down. Best of luck and keep me posted,
Laurie
