the following Monday I requested to be tested again. On the results of this test I was not positive for alcohol but they said that there were no methadone metabolites present either. How could this be? Im thinking that it has to be a mishap on their part(the lab tech)??? Please help me I am trying to decide on whether I should have it tested again or just wait until they test me again?

Sometimes you can eat or drink something that will stay in your system & show different results. Cold & allergiy meds are famous for this. It will give you a false reading. The second I don't understand at all, & if your doc is keeping you, be sure to take your methadone about 2 hours before you go in for a test. There is no way if you take it eveyday, that it wouldn't show. It stays in your system for like 3 days! I am not an expert on this, but if it happens again, they may want to drop you. Are you on it for chrontic pain or addiction? Tell them this time if it comes up a false positive or not showing your methadone, you want a blood test. They may make you pay for that, but it is the only way to really break down what is in your system. A hair test will do that also, but the blood test is the way to go.
I take allergy pills quite a bit now that Spring has sprung in our part of the country & already know my test will be showing somthing alonmg along the lines of cocaine or something like that so I tell them that I take phsuedophedrine for allergies before the test. Good luck & remember to read the labels of anything you eat or drink or take except your methadone... Mary
